Best New Business
This award recognizes a new business that has commenced business in the past financial year (July 2016 – June 2017)

Best Community Supporter
This award recognises a business in our community that provides support to community groups, sporting associations or charities within our region.

Best Small Business
This award recognizes a business with 6-20 employees which demonstrates an outstanding achievement in business planning, marketing and day to day business activities.

Best Micro Business
This award recognizes a business with 5 or less employees which demonstrates an outstanding achievement in business planning, marketing and day to day business activities. E.G. Sole Traders (home based or retail based) & Tradesman.

Best National/International Exporter of Local Products & Services
This award recognizes a business who has demonstrated success in exporting their goods or services on a national or international level, whilst simultaneously promoting the Capricorn Region. E.G. Primary Produces, Local Manufacturer etc.

Most Innovative Business
This award recognizes a business who has demonstrated success in implementing an innovative product/practice as part of their day to day trading.

Best Staff Development
This award recognizes a business who demonstrates a high level of staff retention and engagement. As well as demonstrating pathways for education, skills development and mentoring including internal training, apprenticeships or traineeships.

Best Customer Service
This award recognizes a business who provides quality customer service. The business must be able to demonstrate, how they maintain their customer satisfaction and encourage customers repeat business.

Best Tourism, Arts & Culture
This award recognises a business that is committed to developing and enhancing their approach to tourism, the arts and culture within the Capricornia region. Eg coffee shops, tourist attractions, galleries, festivals/events.

Best Young Entrepreneur
This award recognizes a leading business person under the age of 40 who has demonstrated success in their ideas and business processes and has engaged strongly with the wider community.

People’s Choice
This award recognizes a leading business in our community as nominated and voted for by the general public. Each business must receive a minimum of 4 nominations during the nomination period to proceed to voting process.

Best Business of the Year
This award will be presented to the overall winner. The business will have received the highest score out of all nominations received. People’s Choice is excluded from this category.
